Wake Up Hoi An
Another night feeling very grateful to be where I am in the world right now. Hoi An hosted a “wake up Hoi An” festival that included parades, displays, music, a night market, and loads of street food.
As a town that relies so heavily on tourism, this year has had a devastating effect here (not helped by typhoons and floods too!) so it was great to see people turning out in their hundreds to support this event. The old town is stunning (it’s Unesco listed) and even more so at night when lit by lanterns. Let’s hope that at least domestic tourism continues to increase to help keep the local businesses going.
