Vegetable village

This is Hoi An’s Tra Que culinary village (aka the vegetable village). It’s a huge vegetable garden created over 300 years ago when locals discovered that the local algae was much better to use than any manure or fertilizer.

Everything is done very traditionally here but there’s now a full watering and irrigation system in place to keep it looking amazing. Apparently the government paid for this ensure it continues to attract tourists to the area.
