Today’s the day where I start to build a new business. With a twist. I’ll be doing so in just 7 days! Thanks again for joining me on this journey, and I hope you’ll also learn new things and get value from this process too.

Talking of process… I’ll be following the process outlined in a book by a guy called Dan Norris titled “The 7 Day Startup”. The premise being that you only know if an idea is viable by actually launching something and getting paying customers quickly. Once that is proven, you can then build on it. If it doesn’t work, you’ve only lost a week and a bit of money, rather than months and a lot of money! I’ve successfully used this process a number of times now and highly recommend it. Either for new businesses, or even just on a project basis. The 7 days look something like this…

Day 1: Choose an Idea

Day 2: Design your MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

Day 3: Choose a business name

Day 4: Build your website & marketing funnel

Day 5: Set up a marketing plan

Day 6: Set targets

Day 7: Launch

Each morning I’ll explain a little more about the plan for the day, and each evening send out an update of how the day has gone. Don’t worry, these updates will be brief and hopefully useful to you!

So today is all the about choosing which idea I’ll be pursuing. I currently have a big list of ideas and notes made over the last few weeks. I’ll be researching and validating them all. And by the end of the day will have chosen one to focus on. Wish me luck!

Thanks

Richard
