I’m a big believer in preventative maintenance so the new bike has had a full checkover and any worn parts changed. I’d much rather have new parts fitted now and not have any issues than have a worn part fail in the middle of nowhere and have to deal with it then!
Even though the rear tyre had lots of tread there were a few cuts so I had a new tyre fitted too. When they changed this they also discovered a patched inner tube that wasn’t in great shape so that was replaced too. A flat tyre can really spoil your day so best to try and minimise the chances of it happening!
