Most of my video calls here are with people back in the UK who are 6 hours behind. Although I try to do calls as early as possible for a good overlap of working hours it’s sometimes not possible. A few times I’ve had to do calls when it’s dark here and no matter what I tried to do with the room’s lighting, I still looked dark, dodgy, and with a hint of mass murderer 😂

So I’ve finally given in and bought myself a dedicated ring light. It works really well for calls, and I’m sure it will be handy for some video and photography work too. If you don’t have great light (yes, we’ve all been on those Zoom calls where you simply can’t see some people!) then I really recommend these.
