How to restore chrome and make faded plastics black again only using common household items

I’ve recently bought an old Babetta 210 moped that had been left in a garage unloved for a couple of years. As I’m currently living in the Czech Republic and don’t have access to my garage or tools I had to improvise with what I had.

So after some Googling, I decided to see if some hacks I found for using normal household items to restore chromework and make faded grey plastics black again actually work…
