How To Make Things Happen

To make things happen; get started, get out there, and start doing things. This sounds like really obvious, simple advice, and it is.

However, even though people know this, the majority of them don’t actually do it. Putting things off and being “too busy” is the perfect excuse not to start something. And of course actually executing an idea, rather than writing up a detailed plan and creating the spreadsheets, requires more effort and is harder work.

If you’re complaining that things aren’t moving quick enough for you, do something about it. Instead of putting the effort into the planning, put the effort into the doing.

I’m not saying run around doing things without a plan, but that a high level plan that’s in progress, is worth 1000 carefully crafted plans, written up and sat in drawer unused.

What can you do today to start something? What can you do that will move things forward on a project for you? Just pick one thing and do it today. You’ll then be one step closer to what you’re trying to achieve.

Getting started is often the hardest step, so take that step today and just do it.

Thanks

Richard
