How To Herd Cats

Do you ever need to schedule meetings or get togethers with more than 2 people (aka, herding cats)? Then today’s blog is for you…

There are a group of us based in the same building (and others who used to be) who try and get together for a meal every few months. Like most of these things, this usually starts out with an email going out to everyone to say we should try and get together in the next couple of weeks. This then ends up with a whole load of emails crossing each other back and forth with differing suggested dates. Trying to coordinate that is a bit of a nightmare for the poor person who’s good enough to try and arrange things in the first place. It can virtually turn into a full time job!

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was something out there to help coordinate these kind of things? Good news, there is!

A few years ago I came across a tool called Doodle (yes I know, the strangest name for what it does). Doodle makes is really simple to arrange and decide on dates for these kind of events. The way it works is that you create an event with multiple suggested dates/times. Doodle then sends this out to all the people who want to invite. They then simply tick all (so multiple rather than just 1) the dates/times they can do. Once everybody has done this, you can see the date/time that everyone (or at least most people) can make. You select that, and it let’s everyone know. It’s brilliant and so much easier than trying to arrange in any other way.

So do check it out here as it will save you stacks of time and headaches! It’s even free to use too :)
