This is home now. A couple of weeks ago we made a huge and difficult decision. We’ve decided to stay and live in Hoi An for a year.

It’s doubtful there’d have been a flight back to the UK for us anyway. The flights we were looking at booking were removed, and nearly all long haul flights get cancelled a few days before they’re supposed to leave.

But…

ZERO Covid deaths, only 350 total cases nationwide, and no new cases for 75 days. So that combined with total freedom to live how we wish (no lockdown, free to travel, everything open as normal etc) in a stunning location made for a pretty compelling argument to stay.

The safety and sanity of my family is the most important thing and with everything going on in the world right now, there’s nowhere else we’d rather be.

Considering Vietnam wasn’t even part of our original travel plans, we consider ourselves extremely lucky and grateful to be here!
