Great fun to do the Hoi An heritage run today with friends and family where everyone did brilliantly. This is an annual race through Hoi An ancient town to celebrate the (21st) anniversary of it’s Unesco status. Our race was only 2km but despite zero training and not doing any running for over a year I managed to achieve my time and “no walking/stopping” goal 👍

I’ve never seen anything like the earlier races run by locals though. It looked like nobody else had done any training either (you never see anyone out running here) but they pushed themselves ridiculously hard. So much so that 95% of runners either fainted, collapsed and had to be held up, or were sick as they crossed the finish line 😱
