This week’s tip is about a big mistake people often make in business networking, and more importantly, how to avoid it.

So you’ve been along to a networking meeting and you’ve hopefully got at least a couple of people to follow up with. This follow up is massively important and is where a lot of people fall down. If you’ve promised to send something to someone, make sure you do. Otherwise, what sort of impression are you giving them. I know what it’s like though, most people leave a networking meeting then have loads to catch up on, so things get forgotten, including these followups.

So my tip this week is to schedule the time for these followups in your diary. You’ve no doubt got the meeting itself in your diary, so just add half an hour later in the day for these followups too. Please go and do this now for any upcoming networking meetings so you don’t forget! This is really simple to do, but is really effective.

Thanks

Richard
